Navy Have Arrested 13 Indian Fishermen In Sri Lankan Waters

Sri Lanka Navy have yesterday (03) arrested 13 Indian Fishermen while illegally fishing in Sri Lankan waters waters near Delft Island in Jaffna along with two boats they arrived in  .

Navy and Fisheries Officials  are currently questioning the suspected  Indian Fishermen who had arrived in from Rameshwaram,South India on their illegal fishing activities in Sri Lankan waters.The Boats they had arrived in were handed over to the Fisheries Directors Office in Jaffan.

After questioning ,the group of Indian Fishermen are due to be produced before the Jaffna  Court.

Two Businessmen Were Arrested With A Stock Of "Beedi" Illegally Imported From India

Image result for arrestedExcise Officers in Vavuniya had arrested two businessmen who are illegally importing the tobacco product  "Beedi"  from India and distributed here with a stock of  "Beedi " in their possession at two trade stalls in Vavniya.
The suspects have imported "Beedi " illegally from India by Boats and sold   under a popular brand of "Beedi " produced in Sri Lanka it has been revealed.
The stock of "Beedi" taken in to custody in possession of the suspects is worth around Rs.1.4 million according to the reports.
The suspects are residents of Vavuniya District.

Two Persons Arrested Over The Death Of A British National, Whose Body Recovered In A Ground In Maligawatta

Image result for arrestedAs the death of a 37 year old British National whose body was recovered in a Ground at Araliya Uyana ,Maligawatte has been suspected as a murder ,Police have arrested two persons including a Three Wheeler Driver over the killing .

Police have also recovered the passport,Foreign Currencies ,the Air Ticket and a Wristwatch of the British national in possession of the suspects it has been revealed.

The deceased British National had been identified as a drug addict who had arrived in Sri Lanka last year to get treatment for the drug addiction from a Rehabilitation Center in Wadduwa area .However as he was caught by the Police over taking narcotic tablets and expelled him to Britain he had returned to Maradana area  without leaving the country it has been revealed during  the investigations carried out by the police.
At  Maradana  area he had met with  the three suspects arrested over his death and with them the British National had bought a narcotics worth around Rs.2000 from Granspass area and went to one of the suspects house .There somehow the Foreigner had fainted and the suspects had taken his body and left at the ground in Maligawatte according to the Police.

Due to the activities of those who had involved in
Central Bank Bond Scam the money belonging to the Employees Provident  Fund (EPF) was misused and a forensic audit examination need to be conducted to recover the exact amount of money belonging to EPF the Bond Commission has recommended in it's report ,President Maithripala Sirisena has stated yesterday (03) during his special speech delivered through the electronic media .

Those who were responsible for the misusing of EPF funds have been identified and the Bond Commission had recommended to punish them including Arjun Aloysius and Kasun Palihena of Perpetual Treasuries Limited under the crimes and civil laws and to get the lost profit back to the government from them President has said.
