Ten Persons Were Arrested While On The Way To Worship "Sripada" With Stock Of Cannabis And Cigarettes
Police Officers attached to Anti Fraud Unit of the
Hatton Police have atrested 10 persons who were on the way to worship historical "Sri Pada" by carrying a stock of Cannabis and Cigarettes illegally at Diyagala area on last Saturday (23).
Police have taken in to custody around 11,000 mili grammes of Cannabis and two Cigarette packs contains Cigarettes in possession of the suspects and they were sniffed and detected by a specially trained dog belonging to the Police.
The suspects are due to produce before the Hatton Magistrate Court.

President To Grant Common Pardon To 510 Prisoners To Mark Christmas
President Maithripala Sirisena is due to grant common
pardon to 510 Prisoners who are in remand over small crimes today (25) behalf of Christmas which falls today.
The prisoners who are due to receive Presidential common pardon are those in remand and open prison cells the Prison authorities have stated.Due to Christmas Prison authorities have arranged programmes for Catholic prisoners in prisons and detention centers situated throughout island to be with their family members on Christmas day authorities have announced.
