A Person Was Arrested With More Than Five Kilo Grammes Of Kerala Cannabis

A drug smuggler who had been distributed Kerala

Cannabis to four areas in Southern Province was arrested by the police officers attached to the Matara Divisional Anti fraud squad with more than five kilo grammes of Kerala Cannabis in his possession last night(22)at Thurki village ,Weligama.

The 44 year old suspect was arrested while preparing to distribute the stock of Kerala Cannabis by his Motorcycle.

The suspect had distributed Keeala Cannabis to Galle,Rathgama,Weligama and Matara areas it has been revealed.He is due to produce before the Matara Magistrate Court.

A Motorcyclist Was Killed Due To Motorcycle-Cab Collision

A Motorcyclist was killed after the Motorcycle he was

riding colliding with a Cab at Dambagalla-Mariarawa road in Elpitiya today (23).

The critically injured Motorcyclist was admitted to the Dambagalla Hospital and had succumbed to his injuries after transferred to Sirigala Hospital for further treatment.

The deceased was a resident of Dambagalla area.Police have arrested the Cab driver regarding the accident.

A heavy mist has been occurred in several areas

between Hakgala to Welimada on Nuwara-Eliya-Badulla main road since this morning (23)causing difficulties for transport activities according to the reports.

Due to the heavy mist cover ,The police have requested the motorists to be vigilant when driving.
