Medical Students Launched A Protest Campaign Against SAITM

A group of Medical Students had launched a protest
campaign in front of the University Grants Commission this evening (21)by demanding to abolish SAITM (Malabe Private Medical Collage) before 31st of December.

The group of Medical Students led by Medical Faculty Students Action Committee held the protest campaign around one hour by displying anti SAITM Placards it has been reported.

Meanwhile State Medical Faculty Parents Association has decided to launch protest campaigns against SAITM from today (21) .

First Ever Open Heart Surgery Had Performed In Jaffna Teaching Hospital Successfully

The first ever  Cardiothoracic  Surgery  in Jaffna
Teaching Hospital had performed in the Hospital yesterday (20)successfully according to the Ministry Of Health.

The Surgery was performed on 27 year old Vavuniya Resident S.Rajasekaren and  patient is currently doing well at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the Hospital  the Ministry has stated.

The surgery was performed by a Medical Team led by Cardiothoracic Surgeon Dr.M.S Mugunthan .

In the state sector ,the Cardiothoracic Surgeries are being performed at the Colombo National,Karapitiya Teaching,Kandy Teaching, and Borella Lady Ridgway Childrens  Hospitals so far and the latest addition to the list is Jaffna Teaching Hospital.

A Lane Of A Badulle-Mahiyanganaya Road Had Been Blocked Due To A Sand Mount Collapse

A lane of a Badulle-Mahiyanganaya Road had been blocked after a collapsing of a Sand mount in to the road near Pitapola Junction this morning(21) it has been reported.

The Sand Mount was collapsed as a result of the Heavy showers prevailing in most parts of the Central Hill areas these days including Badulle and Bandarawela areas .Due to the incident a heavy traffic had been reported from the area it has been revealed.
