Airport Customs Have Arrested A Sri Lankan Over Attempting To Smuggle US Dollars 20,000

Airport Customs officers have arrested a 48 year old

Sri Lankan over attempting to smuggle US Dollars 20,000 out of the country illegally at Katunayake, Bandaranayake International Airport today (16).

The suspect had arrived in Katunayake Airport to aboard a Sri Lankan Air Lines flight to Fly Shanghai,China it has been revealed.

Customs officers had released the suspected Sri Lankan national after imposing a Rs.50,000 fine and confiscated the US Dollars taken in to custody in possession of him.

A 17 Year Old Teenager Was Arrested With A Stock Of Narcotic Tablets

A 17 year old teenager was arrested with around 400

narcotic tablets in his possession at Mattakkuliya area yesterday (15)by the Organized crimes prevention Division officers yesterday (15).

The suspect who is a resident of Mattakkuliya area is due to produce before the Maligakande Magistrate Court.

Three Police Officers attached to the Vehicle section of

the Polgahawela Police have arrested and remanded untill 20th of December yesterday (15)over requesting a Rs.3000 as a bribe from a motorist to release his driving license taken in to custody by the police regarding a road accident.

Bribery Commission officials had arrested the three Police officers over the bribe case and they were remanded after been produced before the Kurunagala Magistrate court.

A Police sargent and two constables were remanded over the incident.
