To control the rising prices of the Coconuts in the local Market ,President Maithripala Sirisena had given a permission to the Coconut Cultivation Board to import Coconut Meat according to the Board.
Coconut Cultivation Board has decided to give an opportunity to the Private sector to import Coconut Meat from India it has been revealed.
At present in some food cities and open markets the price of a Coconut is around Rs.100 although government had fixed a price as Rs.75 per Coconut.
The special Police Task Force Personal in Kurunagala have arrested a suspect with around 50 Cigarette Packets contains 1000 Illegal Cigarette Sticks at Kurunagala area.
The suspect and the Cigarette Packs had been handed over to the Kurunagala Police for further investigations.

The officials attached to the Anti Fraud Unit of the Pettah Police have arrested a person with over 07 Kilo Grammes of Kerala Cannabis in his possession at a house in Keselwatte,Colombo this morning(14).
The estimated value of the stock of Kerala Cannabis taken into custody in possession of the suspect is around Rs.01 million it has been revealed.
The suspect was arrested when he came out of the house with a parcel contains Kerala Cannabis in his hands.
