A Motorcyclist Was Killed Due To A Road Accident
A 39 year old Motorcyclist was killed after the Motorcycle he was riding veering off the road after been slipped and colliding with two lamp posts at Thorana Junction in Pundaluoya on Thalawakale main road this morning(13).
The Critically injured Motorcyclist had succumbed to his injuries after admission to the Kothmale Hospital.
The accident was occurred while the hig speed Motorcycle was traveling from Pundaluoya to Thalawakale area it has been revealed.
Pundaluoya Police are conducting an investigation over the incident.

Seven Former LTTE Members Have Been Sentenced A 56 Year Rigorous Imprisonemnt Over Killing Seven Persons In 2006
Anuradhapura Special High Court Judge has today(13) sentenced seven former LTTE members a 56 year rigorous imprisonment over the killing of seven persons including a Doctor at Wilpattu National Wild Life Park by throwing a Claymo Bomb in to their Cab Vehicle on 27th of May 2006.
Accordingly the Special High Court Judge Mahesh Weeraman had sentenced the accused who are residents of Chavakachcheriya,Mannar,Puttalam and Vavuniya who found guilty over the eight charges indicted against them by the Attorney General.

Railway Trade Unions Had Called Off Their Week Long Strike After Discussion With Authorities
Railway Trade Unions have today(13) called off their week long continuous strike after the discussion held between the members of the newly appointed Cabinet Sub Committee which was appointed to provide solutions for the demands of the striking Railway workers.
The discussion was held at Sethsiripaya Building in Battaramulle this morning(13) which lasted around one hour under the patronage of Sub Committee Chairman and Minister of Special Projects Dr.Sarath Amunugama.
Although the Railway Strike is on this morning Railways Department had managed to operate several train journeys it has been reported.
Train Drivers,Station Masters and Train Guards have launched the strike since last Wednesday by demanding solutions for their service problems which caused enormous difficulties for the commuters. Hundreds of Train journeys have been cancelled due to the strike up to today.

the current Railway strike or not by tomorrow (13)after meeting with the Cabinet Sub Committee to look in to the the strikers demands and recommend solutions for them.
The four member Committee is headed by Minister Dr.Sarath Amunugama and Ministers Dr.Rajitha Senaratne,Akila Viraj Kariyawasam and Ranjith Maddumabandara are the other members of the Committee.
