President Has Extended The Duration Of The Bonds Cmmission

President Maithripala Sirisena had extended the duration of the Special Presidential Commission On Inquiry investigating on the Central Bank Bond Scam until 31st of December this year through a special Gazette Notification .

The duration of the Commission earlier extended by the President is due to be expired tomorrow(08).

The duration of the Commission has extended after the Commission had informed the President that it required some more time to prepare the Bond Scam report.

A Motorcyclist Was Killed Due To A Motorcycle-Lorry Collision

A 42 year old Motorcyclist was killed after the Motorcycle he was riding in colliding with a Lorry  carried a weigh lifting machine belonging  to the Sri Lanka Navy Camp in Welisara near the 33rd Kilo Meter Post in Wadduwa .

The accident had occurred when the Lorry  carrying a Weight Lifting Machine traveling from Kalutara to Panadura had collided with rare front of the Motorcycle starveling towards the same direction it has been revealed.

The deceased had been identified as a resident of Galpatha area.Police had arrested the Navy Driver regarding the accident.

Train Services Including Long Distance Ones Paralyzed Due To The Train Drivers Strike

Due to the continuous strike launched by the Train Engine Drivers with effect from midnight last night (06) several long distance train services and Office Train services scheduled to begin from Colombo Fort Railway Station had been cancelled since this morning(07) according to the Railway Control Room..

A discussion regarding the demand of the Train Engine Drivers is currently on  between the striking Union members and the Transport Ministry officials it has been reported..

The Engine Drivers had launched the strike against the precedure adapted by the Transport Ministry to recruit Assistant Engine Drivers.

Fixed Retail Prices Were Introduced For Four Essential Commodities

The Consumer Affairs Authority had introduced a

fixed retail prices for Dhal,Coconuts , imported Potatoes and Dry Fish as per a decision taken by the Life Index Committee with effect from today (06).

Accordingly A Kilo Gramme of Dhal should be sold for Rs.130,A Coconut for Rs.75 . A Kilo Gramme of Imported Potatoes for Rs.76 and A Kilo Gramme of Dry Fish will be fixed depending on the variety as with effect from today and the Gazette Notification has been issued regarding this today according to the Authority.

The Cabinet has also discussed on the fixed retail prices of these essential commodities during it's meeting held yesterday(05).
