An Arrest Warrant Issued To Arrest Former Sri Lankan Ambassador To USA Jaliya Wikramasuriya

Colombo Fort Magistrate Lanka Jayaratne has today(17)  issued an arrest warrant  to arrest former Sri Lankan Ambassador  to United States Of America (USA) Jaliya Wikramsuriya who had gone to USA for medical treatment and not appear before the court as scheduled.

The former Sri Lankan Ambassador Wikramsuriya was arrested and remanded over cheating US Dollars 130,000 belonging to Sri Lankan government when purchasing a building to the Sri Lankan Embassy in USA while he was the Ambassador  was granted bail by the court to receive medical treatment in abroad for two month period.

However after completing two month stay in USA The former Ambassador has been reported as arrested while attempting to flee to another country the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) has informed the Court today(17).

Six Members Of "Ava"Sword Group Were Arrested In Jaffna

Six members belongs to the Sword Group "Ava"

activated in Jaffna were arrested by the Police today (16)in Jaffna over various illegal activities carried out by them including  assaults in North.

The Police officers attached to Jaffna,Kopai and Manippai had jointly carried out a raid  and arrested the suspects.

Ministers and Deputy Ministers who are members of the COPE Committee had telephone conversations with the main suspect of Central Bank Bond Scam Director of Perpetual Treasuries Arjun Aloysius during investigations carried out on the Bond Scam it has been revealed at commision's proceedings today (16).

According to the Cope Members list submitted to the Commission by Attorney Generals Department Minister Dayasiri Jayasekare,State Minister Sujeewa Senasinghe,Deputy Minister Ajith .P.Perera and MP's Harshana Rajakaruna and Hector Appuhamy had telephone conversations with Arjun Aloysius.
