A Motorcyclist Had Drifted Away By Strong Waves Of Attanagalu Oya

A 22 year old Motorcyclist had drifted away by strong
waves yesterday (04)while crossing a bridge in  Harasnala area at Attanagalu Oya where the water level had arisen as a result of heavy showers prevailed in the area.

The missing Motorcyclist had been identified as a resident of Veyangoda area.

Petrol Shortage To Be Lasted Till Monday-Minister Arjuna Ranathunge Requested Motorists To Use Petrol Carefully

Ranathunge has today (04) requested the local motorists to use petrol carefully till the current petrol shortage in Oil refilling stations is solved.

The current Petrol shortage has been occurred in Oil Refilling Stations due to a halting of unloading the fuel from a Fuel carrier belonging to the Indian Oil Company (IOC) which artived in Colombo harbor due to the low quality Minister has stressed.

The state owned Ceylon Petroleum Corporation is being  maintained a sufficient stock of Petrol to meet the requirements of motorists he has stated.

Although  there is a Petrol shorrage in the Oil refilling stations supply of Diesel and Kerosene oil  has been functioned normally Minister has said.

Meanwhile Fuel Queues have seen today (04)as well in front of Oil refilling stations in and around Colombo as well as in outstation areas  .

A Fuel Carraige is due to arrive in Colombo Harbor on this Monday and afterwards the current petrol short age will be eased according to Petroleum Corporation.



A Person Was Arrested With A Stock Of Kerala Cannabis

Police have arrested a 61 year old person with 01 kilo
and 347 grammes of Kerala Cannabis in his possession at Vavuniya Bus station today (04).

The suspect has been identified as a resident of Chavakachcheriya area.

Twelve Bus Passangers Have Been Injured And Hospitalized Due To A Road Accident

Twelve Bus passangers have been injured and
hospitalized after the Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) bus they were travelling in toppled over the road at Irattawaikkal area on Mulathivu-Paranthan main road and veering off the road last evening (03).

The injured were admitted to the Mulathivu Hospital for treatment and their condition is not serious according to police.

Police have suspected that due to the Bus driver's inability to control the vehicle might have caused the accident.Mulathivu Police are conducting an investigation on the incident.
