Hatton-Colombo Road Has Been Blocked Due To A Sand Mount Collapse

Hatton-Colombo main road has been completely
blocked due to a collapsing of a sand mount into the road at Millagahamula in Ginigathhena area according to reports.

Due to this situation police have requested the motorists to use Lakshapana-Kalugala-Nortonbridge road as an alternative road to travel.

The removal of the sand mount fallen into the road has been currently underway.

Vehicle Movement From Welikada Junction To Parliament Road To Be Restricted From 21st To 23rd Of October

Due to the construction work of Welikada flyover
bridge the vehical movement will be restricted from 21st October to 23rd of October between Welikada junction to Parliament Road in Battaramulle.

Accordingly vehical movement will be restricted from the point which begins the flyover bridge and motorists are being advised to avoid the bridge area and use Buthgamuwa road to Battaramulle as an alternative routes.

The transport activities of the extra lane in the center of flyover bridge too will be restricted from 23rd of October until the  construction work of the Bridge has been completed.

Arambepola Rathanasara Thero Who Was Arrested Today Has Been Remanded

Mount Lavinia Additiinal Magistrate had remanded
the Arambepola Rathanasara thero who had been arrested today (20)over an obstructive behavior shown in front of a house in Mount Lavinia where a group of Rohingya refugees was kept in, until 30th of October.

Rathanasara Thero who was arrested in a bus while returning colombo at Nittambuwa area is due to be produced before an identification parade on 30th.

At the time of the arrest Rathanasara Thero had two national Identity Cards in his possession in which one prepared by last July carrying  a photograph taken when  he was a civilian .
