Pitiduwe Siridhamma Thero Apologized To Chief Prelates Of Malwathu And Asgiriya Chapters On His Statements

Pitiduwe Siridhamma thero who himself named as
achieved "Arahath"a status which only the Lord Buddha and few Buddhist monks had achieved in Buddhism , has today (15) apologized to the chief prelates of Malwathu and Asgiriya chapters regarding the statements he made against  Dalada Maligawa in Kandy and Malwathu temple.

Siridhamma thero who himself named as "Samanthbadra"had worshipped and apologized to the chief prelates of Malwathu and Asgiriya chapters at their temples in Kandy it has been reported.

Siridhamma thero is a controversial figure here who has been severely criticized by various sectors of the society over celebrating his birthday annually in his temple in Colombo with participation of high class people in the society and cutting birthday cake which is not a tradition seen among Buddhist monks.

Three Persons Critically Injured Due To A Road Accident In Hatton

Three persons have been critically injured and
hospitalized after the Van they were travelling in  from Colombo to Hatton falling down in to around 100 feet deep precipice and toppled over to Hatton oya at malliappu area ,Hatton this morning (15).

The critically injured persons have been admitted to the Dikoya Base Hospital for treatment.

Around six residents of Hatton area working in Colombo had been faced this incident while travelling from a van to home for forthcoming Deepavali festival.

The accident has occurred due to the driver of the van had fallen a sleep while driving Hatton Police have stated.




Residents Of Samanalagama In Hatton Removed Due To A Landslide Threat

Due to a landslide threat, residents of Samanalagama
 Area in Hatton have been removed from their houses
  and moved to safe places today (15) according to the authorities.

The residents have been removed after collapsing several sand mounts  in the area.

Landslide Warnings Issued To Six Districts Due To Heavy Showers

National Building Research Organization (NBRO) has
today (15)issued landslide warnings to six districts including Galle,Matara,Kalutara,Kegalle,Nuwara Eliya and Ratnapura due to the heavy showers prevailing in.

Those who lives in mountainous areas in these districts should be vigilant over the landslide signs the NBRO has stated.

Meanwhile transport activities on Baduraliya-Mathugama-Kalawana  road have been disrupted due to floods it has been reported.
