A 22 Hour Water Cut Imposed In Gampola
A 22 hour water cut has been imposed in several areas of Gampola since 2 a.m this morning to 12 in midnight tonight due to a maintenance work according to the National Water supplies and drainage board.
Accordingly the water cut has been imposed in 23 areas including Kahatapitiya,Bothalapitiya,Ilangawatte road and Gampola-Kandy road .

GMOA Opposed The Appointment Of Professor Colvin Gunaratne As Sri Lanka Medical Council Chairman
The Government Medical Officers Association(GMOA) has today(03) condemned the appointment of Professoor Colvin Gunaratne as the new Chairman of the Sri Lanka Medical Council (SLMC) by stating that he is a SAITM supporter and a person not accepted by many factions involved in SAITM crisis.

GMOA has requested a discussion from the Prime Minister Wikramasinghe today through a letter regarding the appointment of Professor Gunaratne as the SLMC Chairman .
Health Minister Dr.Rajitha Senaratne has violated the advise he received from the Prime Minister during a recent discussion held on SAITM Crisis with GMOA on not to appoint a person who will be not acceptable by the majority factions as the SLMC Chairman according to the GMOA Secretary Dr.Haritha Aluthge.
A Cyclist Was Killed Due To Cycle-Tipper Collision
A Cyclist was killed after the Cycle he was riding in colliding with a Tipper Truck at Mankulam on Jaffna-Kandy main road.
The critically injured Cyclist had succumbed to his injuries after admission to Kilinochchi Hospital.The deceased was identified as a resident of Mankulam area.
Mankulam Police had arrested the Tipper Truck driver regarding the accident.
