Seventeen Army Soldiers Injured Due To A Army Truck-Bus Collision

Seventeen Army soldiers attached to pangoda Army
camp have been injured and hospitalized after the Army truck they were travelling in colliding with a bus transporting garment workers in homagama this morning (05).

The injured one critically  were admitted to Homagama hospital for treatment.

Homagama police are investigating on the incident.

Several Roads In Galle Inundated Due To Heavy Showers

Several roads in Galle including Baddegama and
Mapalagama are being inundated due to the over 200 mili meter rain experienced in those areas during last 24 hours it has been reported.

Accordingly beligaha,dangedara and hirimbura areas of Baddegama road,Karapitiya city and surrounding areas of Karapitiya Teaching hospital of Mapalagama road and several areas of Ambalanwatte are being inundated according to the reports.

Due to the flood waters people in those areas are being faced severe difficulties as transport activities in inundated roads are distrupted.

Heavy Traffic Reported From Kiribathgoda Due To Two Protest Campaigns

A heavy traffic had been reported in Kiribathgoda
area on Colombo-Kandy road last evening (04)due to a two protest campaigns launched to support and against Minister  and former Army commander field marshal General Sarath Fonseka who accused former Army commander Jagath Jayaduriya over committing war crimes during the war against LTTE.

Both protest campaignes were led by parliamentariens it has been revealed

A Person Was Killed After Colliding With A Container Truck

A person was killed and a building was severely
damaged after colliding with a container truck which veered  off the road in Kochchikade,Negambo yesterday (04).

The deceased had been identified as a resident of wennappuwa who was sleeping in the pavement.

The driver of the Container Truck travelling from Colombo to chilaw area was arrested by the police over the accident.

Around 150 Houses Were Damaged In Polonnaruwa Due To Strong Winds And Showers

Around 150 houses were damaged due to the heavy
showers prevailed in this evening (04) assisted with strong winds in kaduruwela,Polonnaruwa area.

Due to the strong winds trees hsd fallen on house roofs and some roofs damaged due to the winds it has been reported.

Roofs of some institutions and some advertising boards also fallen as a result of strong winds according to reports.
