A Mother And Daughter Have Been Critically Injured Due To A Mortar Canon Explosion

A mother and a daughter have been critically injured

 and hospitalized due to a mortar canon explosion in muhamalai,Kilinochchi area yesterday (25).

The injured mother and daughter have been admitted to chavakachcheri hospital and transfered to Jaffna Teaching Hospital for further treatment.

The mother and daughter who collected a stock of damaged iron sheets to sell from  an uncleared area at Muhamalai jungle had brought them home and a mortar canon struck inside iron sheets had exploded when they checked it according to sources.

The injured mother and daughter received severe injuries to their legs and hands it has been revealed.

Two Young Doctors Arrested Over Attempting To Sexually Harass A Female

Kegalle police have arrested two young  male doctors
attached to a Kegalle hospital over attempting to sexually harass a female in Kegalle town last evening (25).

The residents of the area had assaulted them and handed over them to the Kegalle Police.It has been revealed during the investigations that the two suspected doctors were under the influence of liquor at the time of the incident.

Police have arrested a two residents who had assualted the doctors as well.

A Heroin Smuggler Was Arrested In Habarana

A Heroin smuggler was arrested by the Habarana
Police with 03 grammes and 800 mili grammes of Heroin in his possession in meegaswewa,Habarana area.

The suspect who is a 35 year old  resident of  Kelaniya area had been identified as distributing Heroin to polonnaruwa,Sigiriya and Dambulla areas.

A 47 Year Old Person Had Committed Suicide

A 47 year old person had committed suicide by
jumping in front of a train running from colombo fort to padukke at a railway crossing in Kottawa area.

The deceased had been identified as a resident of palanwatte in pannipitiya.

The cause behind the suicide has not yet been revealed.Kottawa police are investigating on the incident.


Imprisoned Medical Faculty Action Committee Convener Ryan Jayathilake Has Been Further Remanded

The imprisoned convener of the Medical Faculty
Action Committee Ryan Jayathilake who was remanded over engaged in a protest campaign inconveniencing public had been further remanded until 07th September by the Colombo Fort magistrate today (25).

 Colpetty police had filed a case against him in Colombo fort Magistrate over conducting a protest campaign inconvenience the public.warrant too issued against him over the incident.
