A French National Was Injured And Hospitalized Due To A Quarry Blast

A  24 year old French national was injured and a Tea Factory was damaged  after being hit by  pieces  of rock split over  due to an unsafe quarry blast carried out  in a Quarry at demodara in Bandarawela area it has been reported.

The injured had been admitted to the Badulle General Hospital for treatment and he had undergone a surgery at the Hospital due to the accident.

The French national  was injured when he was passing the area with a French girl it has been revealed.
Ella Police are conducting an investigation on the incident.

Three Persons Have Been Arrested With 30 Kilo Grammes Of Kerala Cannabis

The three suspects and the haul of Kerala Cannabis have been handed over to the Mannar Police for further action.

Construction Work Of Two Projects Producing Electricity Through Garbage Had Been Inaugurated

President Maithripala Sirisena has yesterday(10)
inaugurated the construction work of two projects on producting electricity by using garbage at Kerawalapitiya ,Wattale .

Western power and Lanka Fang companies have been invested Rs.27 billion for the construction work of the two projects due to be completed in two years time.

After completion of the construction work of these two projects one project will generate 10 mega watts of electricity to the national electricity supply it has been revealed.

A sanitary garbage collecting center too will be established in Aruwakkalu area in Puttalam coincided with these projects.

Sri Lanka had faced a Garbage management problem after the collapsing of a section of Meethotamulle Garbage mound  last April.
