Construction Work Of Two Projects Producing Electricity Through Garbage Had Been Inaugurated

President Maithripala Sirisena has yesterday(10)
inaugurated the construction work of two projects on producting electricity by using garbage at Kerawalapitiya ,Wattale .

Western power and Lanka Fang companies have been invested Rs.27 billion for the construction work of the two projects due to be completed in two years time.

After completion of the construction work of these two projects one project will generate 10 mega watts of electricity to the national electricity supply it has been revealed.

A sanitary garbage collecting center too will be established in Aruwakkalu area in Puttalam coincided with these projects.

Sri Lanka had faced a Garbage management problem after the collapsing of a section of Meethotamulle Garbage mound  last April.


A Former SP Attached To Anuradhapura Police And Another Person Have Been Sentenced To Death Over A Murder

Anuradhapura Provincial High Court has yesterday
(10)sentenced a former Superintendent of Police(SP) attached to the Anuradhapura Police and another suspect to death over shot and  killing of a female and injuring another person in front of the Anuradhapura court complex.

Accordingly the former Superintendent of Police Prince Gunasekare has been sentenced to death over the incident and other person Kadireshan Jeganen has sentenced to death for supporting the killing.

Police Have Arrested Two Persons With Around 4000 Packets Of Heroin

Police have arrested two persons with around 4000
packets of Heroin in their possession in weediyagoda,
Moragahahena area yesterday (10).

Police have also taken in to custody 650 grammes of unpacked Heroin and matariels used to pack Heroin at a rented house in weediyagoda area where the suspects maintained a packing center of Heroin.

The value of the haul of Heroin taken in to custody during the raid is around Rs.5 million it has been revealed.

Twelve Indian Fishermen Were Arrested In Sri Lankan Waters

Sri Lanka Navy have arrested 12 Indian fishermen
while engaged in illegal fishing in Sri Lankan waters near the Delft island in North along with 03 trawler boats they were in yesterday (09) .

The fishermen were handed over to the assistant director in fisheries in Jaffna for future course  of action.
