Colombo Fort Magistrare Issued An Arrest Warrants To Arrest Five Student Activists

Colombo fort magistrate Lanka Jayaratne has today
(10)issued an arrest warrants to arrest five student activists including the convener of the Medical Faculty Students Action Committee Ryan Jayalath over not appearing before the court to face an allegaion levelled against them on holding a protest campaign by inconveniencing the public.

The Colombo Fort Magistrate has ordered the Colpetty police to arrest the five student activists with immediatte effect and produced them before the court.The Magistrate has also questioned the Colpetty police over not arresting the five students activists as per a court order issued on previous occassion.

A Russian Couple Was Killed Due To A Road Accident In Mirissa

A russian couple was killed after a motorcycle they
were travelling in  colliding with a private bus in mirissa area on Galle-Matara main road.

The private bus had fled away from the scene after the accident and the police are investigating in to arrest the bus driver regarding the accident.


Foreign Minister Ravi Karunanayake Has Resigned From His Ministerial Portfolio

Minister of Foreign Affairs Ravi Karunanayake has
resigned from his Ministerial portfolio today (10)due to the preassure of several factions of  government as a result of his involvement with the main suspect of Central Bank bond scam Arjun Aloysias .

Minister  Karunanayake has announced his resignation this noon at the Parliament while delivering a special speech regarding an allegations leveled against him by the bond commission inquiring the Central Bank bond scam.

An allegation levelled against Minister Karunanayake on his involvement with the main suspect of the bond scam issue when he was the finance minister.

He has appeared before the bond commission last week for questioning regarding the allegation.

President Maithripala Sirisena too requested the Minister Karunanayake to resign from his post after the Minister's name mentioned during the initial inquieries held regarding the bond scam by the bond commission.

During his speech today at the Parliament Minister Karunanayake has stated that he had  never entered politics to earn money and his only purpose is to serve people through politics.

The former Minister who is also the deputy leader of governing United National Party (UNP) has stressed that he had never earned money through illegal means.
