Two Indian Nationals With A Stock Of Gold Arrested At The Airport

Airport customs officers have arrested two Indian

nationals attempted to smuggle a stock of  Gold worth around Rs.2 million to Chennai ,India at the Katunayake,Bandaranaike International Airport this evening (06).

The two suspects hidden the Gold sticks made after heating Gold inside their trouser pockets according to the Customs.

The stock of Gold sticks arrested in possession of the suspects had confiscated it has been reported.

Two Persons Have Been Killed Due To A Motor Car-Tipper Truck Collision

Two persons including a female were killed and three

others have been critically injured and hospitalized after the motor car they were in colliding with a Tipper truck arrived in from opposite direction in Badagamuwa,Kurunagala area early this morning (06).

Five persons in the Motor car including the driver and a female were critically injured and admitted to the Kurunagala Hospital and two persons had succumbed to their injuries on admission to the hospital.

The deceased had been identified as residents of pannala area.

Police have arrested the Driver of the Tipper truck regarding the accident.

A Mother Was Killed And Her Children And Husband Injured Due To A Three Wheeler -Lorry Collision

A mother was killed and her husband and two

children were injured and hospitalized after the Three wheeler they were in colliding with a lorry on the Dambulla-Matale A-9 main road this noon (06).

The injured have been admitted to the Dambulla Base Hospital for treatment.

Due to the head collision between the Three Wheeler and the Lorry a 44 year old female residing in Hindagala ,Peradeniya area were killed and her daughter and son along with her husband were injured according to the police.

Police have arrested the Lorry driver regarding the incident.
