Foreign Minister Ravi Karunanayake Had Appeared Before The Bond Commission

Foreign Minister Ravi Karunanayake had appeared before the Bond Commission which inquiring on Central Bank Bond Scam today(02) to give evidence regarding the allegations leveled against him on the Bond Scam.

It has been revealed during the inquiry that the Foreign Minister Karunanayake had relieved a luxury house on lease from the main suspect of the Bond Scam Arjun Aloysias who is the Director of Perpetual Treasuries while he was the Finance Minister.

Minister Karunanayake had received summons twice to appear before the Commission  last week ,However he had delayed his appearance citing official commitments and informed the Commission through his lawyer that he will appear before the Commission today.After arrived in  the Bond Commission Minister had apologized the Commission for the delay of appearing .

Meanwhile Attorney General's Department has informed the Bond Commission that Arjun Aloysias had attempted to delete the data contained in his mobile phone which handed over to the Commission .

Heavy Traffic has been reported in Town Hall this noon (02) due to a Anti SAITM Protest march conducted by the Anti SAITM Public Students Wall .Similar Anti SAITM Protest March's and  Campaigns are being held throughout today Island Wide according to the Organizers.

Government Medical Officers Association(GMOA) ,Joint Medical Faculty Teachers Union,University Students and other Trade Unions are being participated these Protests.

Anti SAITM Activists have declared today as Anti SAITM Protest Day.
