Eight Indian Fishermen Have Been Arrested In Sri Lankan Waters

Sri Lanka Navy have arrested eight Indian Fishermen
while illegally fishing in sri lankan waters at point pedro with the trawler boat they were in.

The arrested fishermen along with their boat had been handed over to the Assistant director of fisheries in Jaffna for further action.

Seventeen Persons Have Been Hospitalized Due To A Hand Grenade Attack

Seventeen persons have been injured and hospitalized
due to a hand grenade attack occurred during a brawl incident among two groups in vatiya junction at Agunakolapalassa area last night (21).

The injured were admitted to Embilipitiya and Tangalle Hospitals for treatment.

Agunakolapalassa Police have arrested a person regarding the Grenade attack.

Around 3000 Tanks In Anuradhapura And Polonnaruwa Have Been Dried Up Due To The Drought

Due to the current drought 3000 out of the 3300
medium and small size tanks in Anuradhapura and polonnaruwa districts have been dried up according to the sources.

Due to this situation people living in areas including Madawachchiya,Thanthirimale,Horowpathana ,Kebithigollawa and wilachchiya are being faced enormous difficulties including shortage of drinking water .

Authorities have taken steps to distribute drinking water to the affected people through bousers  it has been reported.

Two Persons Were Arrested With 37 Unlicensed Timber Logs

Special Police Task Force personal have arrested two
persons over illegally transporting 37 unlicensed timber logs  at kahagolla area on Diyathalawa-Bandarawela road.

Police personal have also taken into custody  the Lorry used to transport the timber logs .The value of the timber logs taken into custody is around Rs.100,000 it has been stated.

The two suspects along with the lorry have been handed over to the Haputhale wild life office for further action.
