A 26 Year Old Indian Female Was Arrested Over Wearing A T Shirt Carrying The Image Of Lord Buddha
Police have arrested a 26 year old Indian female over
wearing a T shirt carrying the image of the Lord Buddha at a trade complex in Colombo.
The female who arrived in Sri Lanka to spend in a holiday resort in Benthota, is currently being questioned by the police regarding the incident.
Wearing cloths with the image of Lord Buddha and making ornaments portraying the image of Lord Buddha are punishable offences in Sri Lanka,
wearing a T shirt carrying the image of the Lord Buddha at a trade complex in Colombo.

Cabinet Appoved A Proposal To Unlock Locked Houses And Property To Inspect Dengue Mosquito Breeding Places
Cabinet has approved a proposal to unlock the locked
unoccupied houses and property in the country to inspect whether dengue breeding places are there and to take legal action against owners maintaining such breeding places .
To enable this new amendments will be introduced to the Public Security act it has been revealed at the Cabinet Briefing held in Colombo today (19).
Cabinet has also approved a proposal to prepare an operational mechanism to solve the problems occurred when disposing solid waste in Colombo and suburbs.

Around 160 Kilo Grammes Of Cocaine Recovered Inside A Sugar Container
Workers attached to Economic Trade Center in
Ratmalane have today (19)recovered 160 Kilo Grammes of Cocaine inside a Sugar container imported from Brazil by the government owned CWE (Corporative Wholesale Establishment) through a private company.
The Sugar container arrived at Colombo Harbor had been transported to the Economic Trade Center in Borupana,Ratmalane this evening (19) and the stock of Cocaine stored in 10 bags inside the container recovered by the workers when they opened the container.
After being informed the Mount Lavinia police officers have arrived in the scene and taken into custody the Cocaine bags.

Membership Of The Newly Formed Doctors Union Exceeded 1000- -Union Secretary Dr.Premaratne
The newly formed Government Graded Medical Officers Union now had more than
1000 government doctors as it's members and the Union will work towards the benefit of doctors and to get solutions for the longstanding service problems of them according to the secretary of the Union Dr.Niroshan Premaratne.
Addressing the Annual General Assembly (AGM)of newly formed Doctors union held at Sri Lanka Foundation Institute in Colombo this noon (19)Dr.Premaratne has stated that the Union expect to increase it"s members in future and work towards the betterement of the Health sector.
The chief guest of the AGM Health Minister Dr.Rajitha Senaratne has stated during his speech that he will provide solutions for the salary anomaly of graded medical officers.
"Once the leaders of the Government Medical Officers Association(GMOA) have criticized the Prime Minister Ranil Wikramasinghe and branded him as a mentally sick person.However the same bunch of leaders recently met the Prime Minister and discussed him on SAITM Issue.That is there mentality as they are working for the leaders of previous regime"Health Minister has stressed.
Due to the current activities of GMOA the union and doctors are loosing their reputation he has said.
