A Female Was Killed And A Male Had Been Injured Due To A Road Accident

A female pilion rider was killed and the Motorcycle
rider was critically injured after their Motorcycle colliding with an opened door of a parked motor car at Galaha Junction on Kandy road.

The critically injred had been admitted to the Kiribathgoda Hospital fo treatment.

The motor cycle crashed with the Car door had toppled over and colliding with a lorry it has been reported.

Deceased had been identified as a 26 year old female of bemmulle area.

A 12 Hour Water Cut To Be Imposed Areas Around Kotte On Sunday

A 12 hour water cut will imposed from 2 p.m on this
Sunday (09) 2 a.m on Monday(10) in six areas around Kotte due to an urgent repairs in pipelines according to National Water Supplies And Drainage Board.

Acvordingly water cut will be imposed in Rajagiriya,Koswatte,Kotte,Obesekarapura,Bandaranayakapura and moragasmulle areas.Water cut will be implemented in the main road from Rajagiriya to Open university in Nawala and attached sub ways as well as in lake drive and lake garden areas of Rajagiriya according to the Board.

Inland Revanue Department Workers Launched A One Day Token Strike

Workers attached to the Inland Revanue Department
have launched an island wide token strike this morning (07)opposing the proposed Inland Revanue draft .

The proposed draft prepared by International Monetory Fund has suggested to recover income tax from Religeous Institutions ,Welfare associations and Death benevolent Societies which is unfair according to the Joint Committee Of Inland Revanue Trade Unions.

Foreign Employment Minister Urged The Public Not To Provide Money For Individuals To Get Employment In Canada

As there is no memorandum of understanding (MOU)
between Sri Lanka and Canada regarding foreign employment ,do not fall into traps set by some persons who requested huge amounts of money to arrange employment in Canada Minister of Foreign Employment Thalatha Athukorale has  urged the public.

Minister has made this statement after the investigation division of Foreign employment bureau had arrested a female who had taken Rs.400,000 each from a group of persons by promised to provide  employment in Canada.
