A Motorcyclist Was Killed Due To A Motorcycle-Lorry Collision

A motorcycle rider was killed and the pilion rider had
injured and hospitalized after their motorcycle colliding with a Lorry parked at Kahatagollawa area on Kabithigollawa-Padaviya road today.

The critically injured rider and pilion rider of the motorcycle were admitted to the Padaviya Hospital and the rider who was a 32 year old resident of Kabithigollawa area had succumbed to his injuries after admission.

Police have arrested the driver of the Lorry regarding the incident.


Chief Incumbents Of Three Buddhist Chapters Decided No Need To Draft A New Constitution For The Country

The Chief Incumbents of  three Buddhist Chapters
have  met today (04) have unanimously decided that there's no need to draft a new constitution for the country or making an amendment to the Constitution.

This decision has been taken during a meeting held between Chief Incumbents of Siam,Ramanna and Amarapura Buddhist chapters at Asgiriya Temple in Kandy.

During the meeting political,economical and social conditions in Sri Lanka have been widely discussed and the Chief Incumbents had requested the authorities to solve SAITM Issue as well.


Colombo Additional Magistrate Issued A Warrent To Arrest Former Chief JMO Dr.Ananda Samarasekare

Colombo Additional Magistrate has today (04) issued
an arrest warrent for former Chief Judicial Medical Officer of Colombo Dr.Ananda Samarasekare over not producing a post mortem report of an unidentified body to the court  since six years .

The Additional Magistrate has ordered the police to arrest Dr.Samarasekare who is also a former president of Government Medical Officers Association(GMOA) and the former vice chancellor of SAITM Medical faculty, and produced before the court.

He is also found guilty of misplacing bone parts of murdered former Sri Lankan rugby player Wassim Thajudeen and the outgoing president of Sri Lanka Medical Council professor Carlo Fonseka has signed the report of inquiry held against Dr.Samarasekare on that charge few days ago.

Around 13 Rounds Of Old Motar Ammunition Recovered From Kilinochchi

Kangarayankulam Police have recovered 13 rounds of old Motar Ammunition belonging to the LTTE buried in a  paddy field at Kangarayankulam area in Vavuniya yesterday (03) evening.

Police have recovered the stock of Ammunition as per an information received through the residents of the area.
