Postal Services Back To Normalcy After The Strike Ended
Postal services which disrupted for three days due to
the island wide continuous strike launched by the Postal workers returned to normalcy yesterday (30)after the Postal Workers trade unions called off their strike last Thursday (29)night.
The strike had called off following the discussions held between the government and the representatives of Postal Trade Unions on Thursday.
Postal workers trade unions have launched the strike demanding the halting of the decesion to sell post offices for a tourist hotel project and solve long standing administrative problems of the Postal Department.

Former SLMC President Professor Carlo Signed The Report Of Inquiry Held Against Former Chief JMO Dr.Samarasekare Before Leaving Office

Council (SLMC)Professor Carlo Fonseka has yesterday (30)placed his signature on the report of the inquiry held against the former Chief Judicial Medical Officer of Colombo Dr.Ananda Samarasekare regarding misplacing the bone parts of the body of former Sri Lankan rugby player Wasim Thajudeen ,before leaving the office.
Council (SLMC)Professor Carlo Fonseka has yesterday (30)placed his signature on the report of the inquiry held against the former Chief Judicial Medical Officer of Colombo Dr.Ananda Samarasekare regarding misplacing the bone parts of the body of former Sri Lankan rugby player Wasim Thajudeen ,before leaving the office.
Sri Lanka Medical Council held an inquiry against the former chief Judicial Medical Officer of Colombo Dr.Samarasekare who is also the former president of Government Medical Officers Association (GMOA) and the former Vice Chancellor of the Malabe Private Medical Collage (SAITM)as per the order of Colombo Magistrate Court.
The Criminal Investigations Department (CID)had inspected the Malabe Private Medical Collage too regarding the misplaced bone items of Thajudeen.
The report of the inquiry held on Dr.Samarasekare is scheduled to be produced before the court in near future according to the SLMC.

The Term Of Sri Lanka Medical Council President Professor Carlo Fonseka Ended Yesterday (30)

Medical Council (SLMC)Professor Carlo Fonseka has ended yesterday (30).
Professor Fonseka had been appointed as the President of SLMC by the Health Minister under the powers vested with him on 2012 and after his term ended on last December , current Health Minister Dr.Rajitha Senaratne had extended his term for another six months.
However during last few months he was managed to gain the confidence of the Medical students and Doctors trade unions due to his opposition to the controversial Private Medical Collage in Malabe (SAITM).
The 85 year old Professor has told after his term in SLMC ended yesterday (30)that he had no hope of doing any job again at the moment.
Meanwhile the Medical Faculties Student Action Committee had submitted a letter to the SLMC Yesterday (30)requesting a re appointment of Professor Fonseka' as SLMC President.
The president of the SLMC which is a honorary post is appointed by the Health Minister under the powers vested with him.

Medical Students Parents Association Continues Their Satyagraha Campaign In Colombo Fort Railway Station Despite The Court Order
Although Colombo Fort Magistrate has ordered to
remove the hut on the pavement of Colombo Fort Railway station built by Medical students parents association for their continuous Satyagraha campaign,the parents are still reported as engaged in Satyagraha campaign despite the court order.
Due to this situation the Colombo Fort magistrate Lanka Jayaratne has today issued summons to six parents of the Medical Students Parents Association to appear before the court on 14th of July regarding the continuing of Satyagraha campaign despite the court order.
Meanwhile the Medical Students parents association has submitted a motion through an Attorney to the High Court explaining the court order issued to remove their hut in Colombo Fort Railway station.
Due to the court order the Medical Students Parents Association members are holding their Satyagraha campaign in premises of the Railway station illegally according sources.
