Peradeniya University Students Protested Against The Arrests Of University Students Federation Convenors
A group of Students attached to all nine faculties of the
University Of Peradeniya have today (24)held a protest campaign in Peradeniya City against the arrestes of Convenor of Inter University Students Federation Lahiru Werasekera and convenor of Inter University Bhikkhu Students Federation Tampitiye Sugathananda Thero .
The students arrived at Peradeniya City from a protest march began from Galaha Junction and burnt a scarecrow as a protest against the police attack on University students.

Head Coach Of The Sri Lankan Cricket Team Graham Ford Resigned From His Post
The South African head coach of the Sri Lankan
Cricket Team Graham Ford has resigned from his post and left to South Africa according to the Sri Lanka Cricket Board.
He had packed his bags and left Sri Lanka soon after returning the country following Sri Lankan National Cricket Team's early exit from the ICC Champions Trophy cricket tournament in England .
Sri Lanka failed to qualify for the semi finals during the tournament.
Ford has appointed as Sri Lankan coach 15 months ago and the decision on resigning from the post had been taken mutually after careful consideration and deliberation the Sri Lanka cricket has stated.
Cricket Team Graham Ford has resigned from his post and left to South Africa according to the Sri Lanka Cricket Board.

A 34 Year Old Person Died After Falling Down From A Waterfall
A 34 year old person has died after falling down from
a waterfall near the Moratiya bridge in Dothaloya, Aranayake area today (24).
The critically injured person had succumbed to his injuries after admission to the Aranayake District Hospital.
The deceased has faced this incident after visiting to see the waterfall with a group of his friends and attempting to take a selfie in front of it ,it has been reported.
Aranayake Police are conducting an investigation on the incident.

Postal Workers To Launch An Island Wide Continuous Strike From Midnight Monday
Postal workers attached to the Postal Department are
due to launch an island wide continuous strike from midnight monday(26) demanding solutions for two of their demands according to the Postal Unions Collective.
The strike will be launched by demanding not granting some post office buildings for a hotel project and providing solutions for adminstrative problems in Postal Department the trade unions Collective has stated.
Postal workers have launched a two day island wide strike on 13th and 14th of this month over the same demands.
