US Naval Ship "Lake Erie"Arrived In Sri Lanka To Provide Post Disaster Relief Activities

The US Naval ship "Lake Erie" with 150 US Naval and
Army personal arrived at Colombo Harbor this morning (11) to provide post disaster relief work in areas affected due to the adverse weather.

The US Naval and Army Personal in the ship are due to participate in development activities in disaster hit areas including purifying  water in flood affected areas according to the Sri Lanka Navy.The Ship will be stayed here until 25th of June it has been stated.

It has been reported that a large number of wells and water ways in disaster hit areas have been polluted due to recent floods.

The Rs.2.5 Million Unsettled Hospital Bill Of Late Singer Prince Udaya Priyantha



The much talked about incident in the Art field here during last few days is the Rs.2.5 million unsettled hospital bill in Nawaloke Hospital in Colombo need to be paid behalf of the late singer Prince Udaya Priyantha  who had received treatment at the hospital for sometime.

The Singers Association here and the younger sister of the late singer Prince Udaya Priyantha who was taking care of her brother throughout his illness now appealing from his fans to contribute some way to settle the hospital bill.The body of the singer had released by the hospital of an assuarance of the family members that the bill will be settled within a one month period it has been stated.

The family members of late singer sometime ago tried to sell two of the popular songs of  late singer with the permission of their owners to find money for the treatment of  Prince.

Prince Udaya Priyantha was also a product of National youth Services Council like the singers Chandralekha Perera,Shirley Waijyantha and Chandrasena Hettiarachchi.

His funeral is due to take place in Elpitiya today (11).



A Female Was Electrocuted When She Tried To Remove An Electric Wire

A 63 year old female was electrocuted in Mirissa
area,Weligama yesterday (10).

The deceased who was a resident of Mirissa area was electocuted when she tried to remove an electric wire fallen on to the road acvording to the police.

A Person Was Drowned While Bathing In Mahaweli River

A person had drowned and disappeared while bathing
in the dangerous spot of the Mahaweli river near the slave island at Varathanne,Gannoruwa it has been reported.

The missing person went to the river with a group of his friends after attending a wedding held in a hotel at Kandy on friday evening (09).

Naval officers had launched a search operation to find the missing since his disappearence.
