Around 35 Buddhist Monks Evacuated From Pahiyangala Cave Temple Due To Landslide Threat

Around 35 Buddhist Monks have been evacuated for the landslide prone Pahiyangala Cave Temple in Bulathsinghale ,Kalutara last Saturday(03) as per the landslide warning issued by the National Building Research Organization it has been reported.

The Evacuated Buddhist Monks have been moved to another temple in the area for safety .

After the landslide occurred in Pahiyangala Mountain the Nagahadola river was blocked and it cased floods in the area.

Meanwhile the National Building Research Organization has extended the landslide warnings issued to seven districts for another 24 hours.

A New Flood Monitoring Center To Be Established In Two Weeks

A new Flood montoring center equipped with new
tech equipment  is due to be established in Sri Lanka within next two weeks accordung to the Ministry Of Megapolis and Western Province Development.

The hew center will be esrablished to minimize the damage caused to the public due to floods.

The National Building Research Organization had issued a landslide warning to the Temple recently.

Police Have Arrested A Manager And A Sex Worker Attached To A Brothal House

Mount Lavinia Police have arrested a manager and a
female sex worker attached to a Brothal House In Mount  Lavinia area running on the pretext of an Ayurveda Massage Center (SPA) during a raid carried out  yesterday (04).

The suspects have been identified as the residents of Thambuththegama and Naththandiya areas.


Around 2316 Houses Have Been Completely Destroyed Due To Adverse Weather

As there is no improvement of the death toll and the
number of persons missing due to the adverse weather conditions ,Around 2,316 houses have completely destroyed and 12,515 houses have been partially destroyed due to the weather according to the Disaster Management Center.

Around 24,820 persons displaced due to adverse weather are being sheltered at present in 226 makeshift camps.
