Norton Bridge-Ginigathhena Main Road Blocked Due To The Collapsed Sand Mounts

Due to the heavy showers prevailing in the Central Hills these days sand mounts have been collapsed to the Norton Bridge-Ginigathhena main road through several places according to reports.

Due to this situation the transport activities in the road has been disrupted today(25) it has been reported.

Police have appealed from the motorists to be vigilant when driving in the main roads of Central Hills.

Police Have Deployed Several Teams To Arrest Bodu Bala Sena Leader Gnanasara Thero

The Department Of Police has deployed several Police teams to arrest the leader of the Bodu Bala Sena Organization Galagodaaththe Gnanasara Thero over spreading hatred among religious communities and interrupting the duties of Police Officers it has been announced.

Huftsdorf Court 04 Magistrate has already issued an order banning Galagodaaththe Gnanasara Thero from leaving the country according to the Police.

The accused Thero had commenced a fast campaign in front of the Malwathu Temple in Kandy last week to avoid Police arresting him over damaging a religious education center attached to a Muslim Church in North Western Province it has been revealed.

Heavy Showers Caused The Overflowing Of Nilwala And Ging Rivers

Due to the heavy showers prevailing in most parts of the country at present Ging and Nilwala Rivers are overflowing and the water levels in Kelani and Kalu Rivers are nearing the overflowing level according to the Disaster Management Center.People living in low land areas near Kelani and Kalu rivers should be vigilant on the situation the Center has stated.
