A Wild Elephant Was Killed During A Fight With A Tusker In Minneriya Wildlife Park

A Wild Elephant "Netta Kota" was killed after a fight
he had with a tusker "Wasaba' in palupitiya area at the Minneriya National Wildlife Park it has been reported.

The Elephant had received serious injuries to his left eye and to the stomach during the fight with the tusker which lasted around one hour and as a result the Elephant fallen down it has been revealed.

The Wildlife officials arrived in the scene had chased away the tusker in to the wildlife park however as the tusker returned back to the Elephant few times and attacked mostly to his stomach "Netta Kota"succumbed to his injuries .

The Owner Of The Collapsed Building In Wellawatte Remanded Until 26 th Of May

The 62 year old owner of the collapsed
"Excellence" reception hall building in Wellawatte has been remanded until 26 th of May by the Mount Lavinia Magistrate Court today (21) after he was produced before the court.

The suspected businessman who is a resident of Wellawatte area had surrendered to the police earlier .

It has been revealed that the suspect begun building two extra stories in the collapsed building although not received any approval from the authorities .He has received an approval to build a three storied building but begun building five stories it has been revealed.

A Doctor Has Died After Falling Down From Makeli Falls

A young  doctor attached to the Colombo National
Hospital has died after falling down from a Makeli falls (Ella) in Agalawatte area.

The body of the deceased doctor had been recovered today (21)from a deep area in the lower part of the falls .

The doctor who went to study a tamil language course conducted by the National Language Education Institute in Agalawatte,had slipped away and fallen down from the falls after gone to see the falls.

A Major Cabinet Re-Shuffle To Be Taken Place Tomorrow

A cabinet re-shuffle is due to take place tomorrow (22)
according to the government sources.

The General Secretary of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party Minister Mahinda Amaraweera has stated that a major Cabinet re-shuffle is on the cards.

 Finance and Foreign Affairs are among the Ministerial Portfolios subjected to be changed during the re-shuffle sources said.
