Present Government Reduced The Prices Of 23 Essential.Commodities Than The Previous Government -Finamce Minister
Present government has reduced the
prices of 23 essential commodities than the previous government according to the Finance Minister Ravi Karunanayake.
The Minister has revealed this during a media briefing held in the Ministry of Finance yesterday(12) .
Meanwhile although the State Minister of Finance Lakshman Yapa Abeywardena had told the media last Saturday (08) that the President Maithripala Sirisena had instructed the authorities to reduce the prices of 15 essential commodities in the local market either on last Saturday or Sunday in view of the Sinhala/Hindu New Year ,the price reduction has not yet been implemented .
Instead of reducing prices of essential commodities for the new year the Ministry of Finance has introduced a special hamper for the public which includes 10 essential commodities like rice,dhal,potatoes,canned fish etc. for RS.975 to be purchased through the government owned Sathosa outlets throughout the island.

The Two Doctors Arrested While Climbing The Ladder Of The Water Tank In Colombo National Hospital Told They Done That For Fun
During the questioning, the two
doctors(A male and a female) arrested while climbing the ladder of the water tank in Colombo National Hospital had told the Police that they have climbed the ladder of the water tank for fun .
The two doctors who are residents of Nugegoda and Kundasale areas were arrested by the Maradana Police while climbing the ladder of the water tank in Colombo National Hospital. on last Sunday(09).
The hospital authorities are due to take a disciplinary action against the two doctors it has been revealed .

Wild Life Conservation Officials Recovered A Body Of A Giant Elephant In Galgamuwa
The Wild Life conservation department
officials in Galgamuwa area have recovered a body of an Giant Elephant who was shot dead believed to be by a hunter in a forest area of diwulwewa,Galgamuwa.
The 40 year old eight foot height tusker was shot dead on 10 th of April ,however his body had been recovered by the Wild Life conservation officials in Galgamuwa later as per the information provided by the villagers in the area.
At the post mortem conducted by the doctor attached to a vetinery office in pandulagama,Anuradhapura it has been revealed that the death was caused due to a gun shot injuries .
