A Motor Cyclist Was Killed Due To A Motor Cycle-Bus Collision

A Motor Cyclist was killed after the Motor Cycle he
was riding in colliding with a Ceylon Transport Board (CTB) Bus in uttikulam,Kilinochchi area (Northern Province)today (10).

The 67 year old Motor Cyclist had succumbed to his injuries after admission to Kilinochchi Hospital.

Police have arrested the Bus driver regarding the accident.

Police Arrested Three Persons While Transporting Sand Illegally In A Tipper

Police have arrested three persons while transporting
sand illegally taken from Mahaweli River in a Tipper Truck  without a valid licence in Badulla-Kandeketiya -Demodara area this morning(10).

The suspects had been identified as the  residents of the Badulla-Kandekatiya area.

Police have also taken into custody another two tractors loaded with sand near mining area in Mahaweli River .


Police Shot A Three Wheeler Over Continued Driving Despite Police Orders

A Three Wheeler was shot at by the Police in Pallewela
Road at Gaspe area today (10) as the vehicle continued driving despite the police orders .

Police have arrested four persons travelling in the Three Wheeler including the Driver who had driven the vehicle without a driving licence.

The Three Wheeler received minor damage due to the incident.

Aroumd 42 Houses In Vavuniya Damaged Due To The Strong Winds

Around 42 houses in three villages belonging  to
the Vavuniya District (Northern  Province)damaged and seven houses  completely destroyed due to the strong winds experienced last night (09) the Disaster Management Center has stated .

Accordingly houses belonging to sinnakkulam,Kaaththar and Thelkilippukulam villages
Damaged as a Result of the winds .

More than 150 persons have been affected due to the winds the Center has stressed .

A Russian National Was Arrested In Ella Area While Staying In The Country Without Visas

The 38 year old Russian National had been remanded until 11th of April after being produced before the Bandarawela Magistrate Court.
