Four Persons Including Three Foreigners Injured And Hospitalized Due To A Road Accident

Four persons including three foreigners and a van

driver were injured and hospitalized after the van they were travelling in veering off the road and caught fire in Gokarella area.

The injured were admitted to the Galewala Hospital for treatment.

The van carrying a group of foreigners travelling from Colombo to Sigiriya at the time of the incident.

Gokarella Police are conducting an investigation on the incident.

An Eighty One Year Old Person Was Killed Due To A Road Accident

A person was killed after colliding with a lorry

travelling from Dambulla to Kekirawa near the Kithulhitiyawa river in Kekirawa area (North Central Province).

The critically injured 81 year old person had succumbed to his injuries after admission to Dambulla Hospital.

Kekirawa police have arrested the lorry driver regarding the accident.

A Sudden Fire Completely Destroyed A Hostel Building In Hambanthota

A sudden fire erupted in the wee hours of this

morning(09)in  a hostel building at Thihagoda,Hambanthota area (Southern Province) completely destroying  the building it has been reported.

No one was injured due to the fire in the  hostel building Where the Chinese national workers attached to the Southern Expressway project staying in according to the police.

The fire brigade arrived at the scene doused the fire with the help of police and residents of the area.

A Person Was Arrested With 49 Water Gel Sticks In Trincomalee

Sri Lanka Navy personal along with the

officials of Trincomalee anti corruption unit arrested a person with nearly seven kilo grammes of an explosive water gel sticks which use to kill fish in erakkandy ,Trincomalee area yesterday (08).

Around fourth nine water gel sticks had been taken into custody in possession of the suspect.The suspect and the stock of explosives were handed over to the anti corruption unit in Trincomalee for further investigations.
