Police Have Used Tear Gas And Water Cannon To Disperse A University Student Protest March
Police have fired tear gas and water cannons to disperse a large group of University Students attached to Inter University Students Federation who staged a protest march towards Prime Minister's official Residence by demanding to close down the Private Medical Collage and against the decision taken to reduced the Bhikku Student intake to the Universities in Malabe(SAITM) at Lotus Road Junction in Galle Face this evening(04).
Police fired the tear gas and water canon after the protesting students attempting to blocked the road during the protest march .
Police have later closed the Galle Face road from the Lotus Road Junction.

Two Persons Were Killed And Two Injured Due To A Three Wheeler-Lorry Collision
The injured were identified as the 13 and 17 year old daughters of the deceased couple.
