A 17 Year Old Was Killed Due To A Motor Cycle-Jeep Collision

A 17 year old  boy was killed due to a Motor Cycle he was riding in collided with a Jeep in Angoda area on Colombo-Awissawella main road (Western Province)this morning(16).

The accident has occurred during a traffic congestion according to the Police.The deceased had been identified as a resident of Mulleriyawa area.

Around 25 SriLankans Expelled From Australia

Australian government on wednesday (15) had
expelled 25 Sri Lankans who attempted to enter Australia illegally with fake passports .

The expelled Sri Lankans arrived at Katunayaka Bandaranaike International Airport on wednesday and upon arrival they have been  handed over to the Criminal Investigations Department(CID).

The group of Sri Lankans attempted to enter Australia through Malaysia it has been revealed.

Former Economic Development Minister Basil Rajapakshe Served With Indictment

Former Minister of economic development Basil
Rajapakshe was today (15)served with indictment  by the Colombo High Court over causing Rs.29.4 million loss to the government during previous regime.The
indictment was served when the case against former economic development Minister Basil Rajapakshe has been  taken up for hearing in Colombo High Court.



The court had released the former Minister Rajapakshe on two surety bails of Rs.500,000 each and a cash bail of Rs.100,000.

The former Minister has been accused for printing propaganda almanacs with photographs of former President Mahinda Rajapakshe  to distribute among voters during the previous presidential elections.
