A sudden fire erupted in an Animal Farm grassland at

Hatton -Kotagala area this afternoon (22)had been doused by the fire brigade before it spreads further.

Police believed that the fire was set up by a group of people.

A Girl Child And Her Grand Mother Were Killed After Colliding With A Lorry

A small girl child and her grand mother were killed after colliding with a Lorry belonging to a Ceylon Electricity Board at Thambuththegama-Bellankadawala area according to the Police.

The two of the deceased faced the accident while at street corner it has been revealed.The bodies of the victims had sent to Thambuththegama Hospital for  postmortems.

Police have arrested the driver of the Lorry regarding the accident.

President Extended The Service Period Of Navy Commander

President Maithripala Sirisena has today(22) extended the service of Navy Commander Vice Admiral Ravindra Wijegunawardena from further six months.

The Navy Commander whose service period ended today(22) had accused of being  assaulting an Electronic/Print Media Correspondent at Hambanthota Port during a protest campaign held there recently.
