A small girl child and her grand mother were killed after colliding with a Lorry belonging to a Ceylon Electricity Board at Thambuththegama-Bellankadawala area according to the Police.

The two of the deceased faced the accident while at street corner it has been revealed.The bodies of the victims had sent to Thambuththegama Hospital for  postmortems.

Police have arrested the driver of the Lorry regarding the accident.

President Extended The Service Period Of Navy Commander

A Police Sargent Has Been Hospitalized After A Police OIC Assaulting Him

A Police Sargent  attached to the Yatiyanthota Police has been admitted to to the Awissawella Hospital last night (21)after the OIC Of the same Police Station (Yatiyanthota) assaulting him . 

The Yatiyanthota Police OIC had hit the Police Sargent from his fist and kicked him in front of three other Police Officers of the Police Station  by accusing he (Police Sargent) was responsible for misplacing  some court evidence materials  ,the assaulted Police Sargent has told the Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) who has been appointed to investigate  on the incident.

The victim has lodged  a complaint against the Police OIC it has been reported.

Airport Customs Officers Arrested A Sri Lankan Attempted To Smuggle A Stock Of An Expensive Wallapatta

Related imageAirport Customs Officers had last night(21) arrested a Sri Lankan  who attempted to illegally smuggle 26 Kilos of expensive "Wallapatta" or "Gyrinops Walla" use to manufacture an expensive perfumes ,to Chennai -India at the Katunayake,Bandaranaike International Airport.

The Customs Officers had fined the 37 year old suspect who is a resident  in Kuliapitiya area with Rs.100,000 fine  and detained him to investigate further on the incident.

The stock of Wallapatta taken into custody  concealed in a baggage and brought to the Airport it has been revealed.The value of the stock has been estimated as Rs.1.2 million.
