Court Of Appeal Extended The Stay Order Issued Against The Full Face Helmet Ban
The decision to extend the stay order has been taken after the two cases filed against the Police circular taken up for hearing today before the bench of Court Of Appeal.
The state counsel has earlier requested a sufficient time from the court to introduce a high quality Motor Cycle Helmet instead of Full Face Helmet .
Former Eastern Provincial Chief Minister Pillayan Further Remanded
The former Chief Minister of Eastern Province Sivanesathurai Chandarakanthan alias Pillayan who was remanded over the murder of former Tamil National Alliance(TNA) MP Joseph Pararajasingham has been further remanded until 06th of March by the Batticaloa Magistrate today(20).
The bail application filed on behalf of the former Chief Minister has been rejected by the Batticaloa Magistrate.
Pillayan was arrested and remanded on 11th of October 2015 over the murder of former TNA MP Joseph Pararajasingham who was shot dead in 2005 .

Fifteen Peradeniya University Students Arrested Over Ragging Remanded Unil 02nd Of March
Peradeniya Police had arrested the suspected students who are second year students attached to the Agriculture Faculty in Peradeniya University in the wee hours hours of this morning ,while they ragging the first year students in a house at megodakalugamuwa area .

Students attached to the Agriculture Faculty of University Of Peradeniya over ragging first year students in the wee hours of today (20).
Due to the ragging eight first year students admitted to the Peradeniya Teaching Hospital it has been revealed.
Police had arrested the students who were involving in ragging as per an information recieced that the seniors students taken a group of first year students to a house in megodakalugamuwa area for ragging.
