Around 50,000 Foreigners Applying Resident Visas From Sri Lanka Annually
Around 50,000 Foreign Nationals are applying for six month long Resident Visas from Sri Lanka annually according to the Ministry Of Health,Nutrition And Indigenous Medicine.

Out of them 60% are applying Resident Visas for employment purposes it has been revealed.
Foreign Migrants who arrive here with Resident Visas are eligible to receive health services during their stay in Sri Lanka and they are entitled for a medical check up carry out within one month after arrived in Sri Lanka to identify certain diseases the acting Director General Of Health Services Dr.Jayasundara Bandara has stated.
These Foreign Migrants will be provided health care services through the National Health Security Fund as well Dr.Bandara has stressed.

Second International Conference On Migrant Health To Be Held In Colombo Next Week
The second International Conference(Global Consultation) On Migrant Health is due to be held in Galadari Hotel ,Colombo -Sri Lanka from 21-23 rd of February under the ptaronage of President Maithripala Sirisena ,Director General of World Helath Organization (WHO)Dr.Margrat Chan and Minister Of Health Dr.Rajitha Senaratne.
More than 100 delegates representing governments and non governemntal organization of more than 100 countries are due to be particpated this vital International Conference focusing on Migrant Health issues according to the Ministry Of Health,Nutrition And Indigenous Medicine .
At the end of the Conference a Colombo Declaration which will be mentioned the areas that should strengthen the health issues of Migrants both with valid visas and who are not possesses valid visas the acting Director General Of Health Services Dr.Jayasundara Bandara has stated during a media briefing held in Health Education Bureau regarding the Conference this morning (14).

Colombo Additional Magistrate Requested A Medical Report On Duminda Silva's Health Condition
Colombo Additional Magistrate has today(13) directed the prison
authorities to produce the imprisoned former MP Duminda de Silva who is in a death row over the murder of former MP Bharatha Lakshman Premachandre to Colombo National Hospital and examine his health condition under a panel of medical specialists of the Hospital .
The Additional Magistrate has also instructed the Colombo National Hospital director Dr.Anil Jasinghe to submit a medical report on Duminda Silva's health condition by 28th of February .
The court seeks a medical report of Duminda Silva's health condition to confirm his inability to appear before the court due to illness it has been revealed.
