Court Of Appeal Granted Legal Permission For Malabe Private Medical Collage Students To Register At Sri Lanka Medical Council
The Court Of Appeal has today(31) granted legal permission to the Medical Degree holders who are passing out from the controversial Private Medical Collage in Malabe(SATIM) to register in Sri Lanka Medical Council(SLMC) as other Sri Lankan MBBS doctors .
The Chairman of the Court Of Appeal Vijith Malalgoda and Judge S.Thurairaja had delivered the much awaited verdict regarding the Private Medical Collage in Malabe this morning.
The judges have delivered the verdict on SLMC Registration issue of Private Medical Collage students ,after considering a petition filed at the Appeals Court by a Female student attached to Malabe Private Medical Collage requesting legal permission to register at Sri Lanka Medical Council.
Trade Unions of MBBS Doctors in the country along with Medical Faculty Students Unions and Other University Students Unions are involving in country wide protest campaigns against granting SLMC Registration for Private Medical Collage Students in Malabe.

Airport Customs Arrested Two Persons Attempted To Smuggle Four Gold Pieces To India
Airport Customs Officers have arrested two brothers who illegally attempted to smuggle four pieces of Gold to India by hiding them under their tongues at Katunayake Bandaranaike International Airport this morning(31).
The two suspects who carried two gold pieces each under their tongues (one Gold Piece weighing 180 grammes) arrived at Katunayake Airport from Awissawella and Kandy it has been revealed.
The value of the Gold Pieces recovered in possession of the suspects is estimated as over One million rupees.

GMOA Secretary Threatened The President Of MLT Union
The president of the Sri Lanka Society For Medical
Laboratory Sciences Ravi Kumudesh has lodged a complaint at Maradana (Colombo) Police stating that the secretary of the Government Medical Officers Association (GMOA)Dr.Navin De Soyza has threatened him during a meeting held at Ministry Of Health on Monday (30)morning.
Dr.Soyza who participated the meeting titled"Organizational Structure of a Hospital Laboratory"behalf of GMOA along with it"s president Dr.Anuruddha Padeniya has continuosly interrupted the presentation made by Kumudesh and threatened that he will assault Kumudesh outside the premises it has been revealed.
The President of the Sri Lanka Society For Medical Laboratory Sciences Ravi Kumudesh has also requested the two senior Deputy Inspector Generals Of Police in western province Nandana Munasinghe and L.S Pathinayake to provide security for him as his life is in danger following the threat made by Dr.Soyza.

A Person Was Arrested With One Kilo Grammes Of Cocaine
A person with one kilo gramme of Cocaine in his
possession had been arrested during a raid carried out by Police Narcotics Bureau officials at Mahalwarawa in Kottawa (Colombo)today (30).
The suspect who is currently in detention ,being questioned by the officers regarding the incident.
The Police Narcotics Bureau officials had also launched a search operation to arrest another person who escaped from the scene during the raid.
