Extra Ordinary Gazette Notification Regarding implementing The Right To Information Act Has Been issued
The extraordinary Gazette Notification announcing
the date of implementing the Right to information act has been issued last Friday (20).
Accordingly the Right to information act is due to be implemented with effect from 03rd of February.
Minister of Parliamentary Reforms and Media Gayantha Karunathilake has been issued the Gazette Notification.

A Police Officer Attached To Mangalagama Police Has Attempted To Commit Suicide
A police officer attached to Mangalagama Police in
Ampara District(Eastern Province) has attempted to commit suicide yesterday (21)by shooting himself .
The Police Officer shooting himself from a firearm belonging to a fellow Police Officer it has been reported.
The critically injured Police Officer was admitted to the Gonagolla Hospital and later transferred to Ampara Hospital for further treatment.He is currently receiving treatment at Intensive Care Unit of the Hospital,
The reason behind the suicide attempt has not yet been revealed and Mangalagama Police are conducting an investigation on the incident.

Three 13 Year Old Teenagers Have Drowned And Disappeared In Mahaweli River
Three 13 year old teenagers have yesterday (21)
drowned and disappeared in Mahaweli River at Dunhinda,Gampola area (Central Province)while bathing it has been reported.
The three teensgers who are residents of Udagama,athgala and Gampola areas have drowned while bathing in Mahaweli River with two other friends yesterday afternoon according to the Police.
Police ,Navy and residents of the area have launched a joint search operation to rescue the disappeared teenagers.
