Bribery Commission Has Arrested A Sub Inspector For Accepting Rs.5000 As A Bribe

Bribery Commission has yesterday (18) arrested a Sub Inspector attached to Welipanna Police for accepting a Rs.5000 aa a bribe from a resident.

The suspected Sub Inspector had taken Rs.5000 from a residemt to settle a House Rental matter in Police  without going to courts it has been reported.

Two Unidentified Gunmen Shot And Killed A Person At Homagama

Two unidentified gunman shot and killed a 34 year old

person at Station Road ,Homagama this evening.

The suspects who arrived in from a Motor Cycle have shot and killed the victim who was on the way home after appearing before court regarding a case and fled the scene.

The crtically injured victim was succumbed to his injuries on  admission to Homagama Hospital.

A Fungus Growing On The Surface Of Sigiriya Frescoes

A fungus is reported as growing on the surface of

internationally famous Sigiriya frescoes.

According to the Central Cultural Fund steps had been taken to remove the fungus by using a chemical witb effect from today (18).

Cabinet Approved A Proposal To Include A Declaration On Driving Licence To Indicate Drivers Will To Donate Organs

Cabinet has approved a proposal made by Minister Of Health,Nutrition and Indigenous Medicine Dr.Rajitha Senaratne to include a declaration in Driving Licenses declaring the Driver's will to donate their organs and Tissues as a living human being and in a Brain Death or a Circulatory Death status to save a life of a patient .

Drivers will to donate their organs at above mentioned situations will be indicated in the driving license according to the sources.
