Sri Lanka Customs Recovered A Parcel Contains Hashish And Cannabis At Central Mail Exchange

Sri Lanka Customs Officers have today(11) recovered a parcel contains 84 Grammes of Hashis and 1400 Mili Grammes of Cannabis sent from Spain at the Central Mail Exchange in Colombo.

As no one come to collect the  Parcel ,the Sri Lanka Customs Officers and Central Mail Exchange Officers have checked the Parcel after informed by the Postal Department Officials and recovered the stock of narcotics it has been reported.

 Sri Lanka Customs and National Dangerous Drug Control Board have launched an investigation on the incident.

A 16 Year Old Student Was Drowned While Sea Bathing In Weligama

A 16 year old student was drowned in the sea coast of Weligama(Southern Province)while bathing it has been reported.

The student who was a resident of Maduwawatte,Galle drowned while bathing with a group of his friends.

The body of the deceased sent to the Matara General Hospital for a post mortem.

A 39 Year Old Passenger Was Killed After Falling Down From A Foot Board Of A Bus

A 39 year old passenger  was killed after falling  from a foot board of a Private Bus at Welikanda in Polonnaruwa(North Central Province).

The critically injured passenger had succumbed to his injuries after admission to Welikanda Hospitable.Deceased has been identified as a resident of Aselapura,Welikanda area.

Welikanda Police have arrested the Bus Driver regarding the accident and launched an investigation on the incident.

Health Ministry To Sign An Agreement With JAICA To Build A New Drug Manufacturing Plant Here

The Ministry of Health,Nutrition and Indigenous
Medicine and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JAICA)are due to sign an agreement today (11) at the Ministry to build a new drug manufacturing plant in Sri Lanka.

The new drug manufacturing plant will be constructed to expand the local production of western drugs according to the Health Ministry.
