Jayakody has been appointed as the new media spokesman of  the Police Department with  effect from yesterday (10).

He had been earlier  served as the Director of Police Media Division and in charge of the Crimes Records Division it has been revealed.

An Iranian National Arrested At Katunayake Airport With Over Rs.28 million Worth Foreign Currency Notes

Airport  Customs officers have arrested an Iranian National last night (09)who attempted to smuggle Foreign Currency notes worth more than RS.28 million out of the country at Katunayake Bandaranaike International Airport.

The foreign currency notes were concealed inside his luggage according to Customs officers.

The suspected Iranian National was arrested when he attempting to board a flight to Doha,Qatar.

The price of Kerosene Oil will be reduced by Rs.5 with effect from midnight tonight as per proposed through the 2017-Annual Budget.

Accordingly the new price of a Kerosene Oil Liter is Rs.44.
