An Iranian National Arrested At Katunayake Airport With Over Rs.28 million Worth Foreign Currency Notes
Airport Customs officers have arrested an Iranian National last night (09)who attempted to smuggle Foreign Currency notes worth more than RS.28 million out of the country at Katunayake Bandaranaike International Airport.
The foreign currency notes were concealed inside his luggage according to Customs officers.
The suspected Iranian National was arrested when he attempting to board a flight to Doha,Qatar.

MP Wimal Weerawansha Was Remanded Until 24th Of January
Joint Opposition MP and leader of the National Freedom Front Wimal Weerawansha who was arrested by the Police Financial Crimes Investigations Division(FCID) this morning has been remanded until 24th of January by the Colombo Fort Magistrate Lanka Jayaratne this evening.
The Joint Opposition MP was arrested by the FCID this morning over misusing of state owned vehicles during previous regime.
