MP Wimal Weerawansha Was Remanded Until 24th Of January
Joint Opposition MP and leader of the National Freedom Front Wimal Weerawansha who was arrested by the Police Financial Crimes Investigations Division(FCID) this morning has been remanded until 24th of January by the Colombo Fort Magistrate Lanka Jayaratne this evening.
The Joint Opposition MP was arrested by the FCID this morning over misusing of state owned vehicles during previous regime.
A Sixteen Year Old Girl Was Drowned In Sangaththani Reservoir
A Sixteen year old girl was drowned in Sangaththani Reservoir at Kayts(Northern Province) while bathing it has been reported. The deceased girl has been identified as a resident of Velanai island.The body of the deceased sent to the Vealnai Hospital for post mortem.
Kayts Police are conducting an investigation on the incident,

Joint Opposition MP and leader of the National Freedom Front Wimal Weerawansha has been arrested short while ago by the Police Financial Crimes Investigations Division(FCID) over the charges of misusing of state vehicles during previous regime.MP Weerawansha who arrived at FCID this morning to give a statement regarding the allegation leveled against him was arrested after recording a statement it has been reported.He appeared several times before the FCID in recent months regarding the allegation.
