G.C.E Advanced Level Examination Results Of Eighty Students Temporarily Suspended

The Department Of Examinations has temporarily
suspended the G.C.E Advanced Level examination results of Eighty Students with immediatte effect.

The results of these students were suspended as they have sat for the examination which was held last August fraudulently in remote areas without sitting in their scheduled areas according to the Examination Department.

The Department has also suspended the services of two school principals who allowed some of these students to face the examination in remote areas.

The G.C.E Advanced Level Examination  results were  issued yesterday (07) .


A Sudden Fire In Hatton-Maskeliya Area Destroyed 15 Acres Of Land

Around 15 acres of land near "Mocka" tea estate in Hatton-Maskeliya (Upcountry) had been destroyed so far due to a sudden fire erupted there today (08)
according to reports.

Police along with the residents of the area are trying to douse the fire at present.

The cause of the fire hnot yet been revealed and Police have suspected the dry weather condition may have caused the fire.

Eight Persons Injured And Hospitalized Due To Cantor Vehicke-Car-Van Collision In Hikkaduwa

Eight persons were injured and hospitalized today (08)
due to a Cantor Vehicle-Motor Car-Van collision occured at Nalagasdeniya area on Hikkaduwa -Baddegama road (Southern Province).

A pregnant Mother and two children are among the injured who were admitted to the Kaapitiya Teaching Hospital for treatment according to reports.

The accident occurred after a Cantor Vehicle and a Motor Car travelling to Baddegama area colliding each other and as a result the Cantor Vehicle veered off the road and collided with a Van arrived in front it has been revealed.

Eleven More Persons Arrested Regarding The Hambanthota Clash

Eleven more persons who got involved in  damaging public property in Hambanthota(Southern Province )and violating court orders   arrested  today(08) according to the Police.

Police have arrested 52 persons regarding the clash occurred in Hambanthota  yesterday during the launching of China funded Hambanthota-Southern Development Project.
