Former Sri Lankan Ambassador To USA Jaliya Wikramasuriya Further Remanded
The former Sri Lankan Ambassador to United States
Of America (USA) Jaliya Wikramasuriya who was arrested and remanded over misusing of state funds during renovation work of Sri Lankan Embassy Building at Washington D.C has been further remanded until 11th of January by Colombo Fort Magistrate today (02).
The former Sri Lankan Ambassador to USA was arrested at the Katunayake Bandaranaike International Airport by the Police Financial Crimes Investigations Division (FCID) on 17th of November while preparing to leave the country.

As Human-Elephant Conflict Grows,A Group Of Wild Elephants Have Destroyed Eight Houses In Dimbulagala
A group of wild elephants entered the palatiyawa and
allegama villages in Dimbulagala (North Central Province)yesterday (01) and destroyed eight houses as well as paddy bags.
During last year around 11 humans and 09 wild elephants were killed and nearly 200 houses fully or partially destroyed in Mahaweli "B" zone due to the human-elephant conflict according to sources.
