Two Females Were Injured And Hospitalized Due To A Bear Attack
Two females were injured and hospitalized due to an
attack of a Bear at a forest area of Atambagaskada in Vavuniya (Northern Province) yesterday (25) according to reports.
The injured females were admitted to Vavuniya Hospital for treatment.
According to the Police the two females were attacked by a Bear while collecting fire wood in a Forest.

A Two Day Special Dengue Control Programme To Be Launched From Tomorrow(27)
A two day special Dengue Control Programme will be launched in Schools island wide on Tomorrow(27) and the day after(28) in view of inspecting Dengue Mosquito Breeding Places and destroying them before the commencement of new School Season according to Ministry Of Health,Nutrition and Indigenous Medicine.
All schools in the Island are expected to cover under the Programme and a special attention will be paid to the Schools which reported highest Dengue Mosquito Breeding Places in Colombo,Gampaha,Kalutara and Kalmunai areas the Ministry has stated.
Around 640 teams comprising with member's of Police ,Tri Forces and Health Workers will carry out the raids in schools during the Programme.

A Female Was Killed After A Lorry Ran Over Her At Hali-Ela
A begger woman was killed on the spot after a Lorry ran over her while sleeping near a Oil Refinery at Hali-Ela(Uva Province) it has been reported.
Hali-Ela Police have arrested the driver of the Lorry regarding the accident.The whereabouts of the deceased not yet been revealed.

A Person Was Arrested With Two Illegal Firearms And Heroin At Ja-Ela
Ja-Ela Police have yesterday (26) evening arrested a person with two illegal firearms and a haul of heroin in his possession at Ja-Ela(Western Province).
During the raid the Police have taken into custody two automatic pistols ,live ammunition and 20 mili grammes of heroin in possession of the suspect.
The suspect is due to be produced before the Kadawatha Magistrate Court.
