Cash And Stock Of Liquor Bottles Stolen From A Wine Store

An unidentified person or a group had stolen  cash
and a stock of  Liquor from a Wine Store at 18th post on Colombo-Negambo road according to the Police.

Accordingly cash worth Rs.480,000 and 8 Liquor Bottles had been stolen from the Wine Store.

Seven SSP's Promoted To The Rank Of DIG WIth Effect From 08th Of December

Seven senior Superintendents Of Police (SSP) have
been promoted to the rank of Deputy Director General Of Police (DIG) by the Inspector General Of Police
(IGP)Pujitha Jayasundara with effect frim 08th of December.

These promotions have been given by  as per the instructions of National Police Commission.

Accordingly SSP's S,B Ratnayake,C.A Premashantha,L.K.J.G.S Pieris,K.N.J Wadhisinghe,K.P.M Gunaratne,A.H.M.W.C.K Alahakoon and L.H.K.W.K Silva have been promoted to DIG rank.


Police Have Arrested A Person Who Robbed Three Houses At Moratuwa

Police have arrested a person who had stolen  goods
from three houses at Lakshapathiya ,Moratuwa (Colombo).

Few of the Jewelry the suspect had stolen from houses had been found at few morgage centers in the area according to the Police.

Exice Department Officers Destroyed A Cannabis Cultivation At Thanamalvila Area

The officers attached to Anti Narcotic Bureau of Excise
Department have yesterday (23) raided a two acre Cannabis Cultivation in Kudaoya at Thanamalwila area which maintained on the pretext of a cattle  farm and arrested two persons worked there .

The Anti Narcotic Bureau  officials have also  destroyed the Cannabis Cultivation worth around Rs.10 million according  to the sources.

The two suspects were produced before the Wellawaya Magistrate Court  and the Magistrate has imposed a fine of Rs.5000 each from them.
